The Green Room, a circular designed space full of green elements and special collection items, is the ideal place in Naturalis for meetings with a group of up to 8 people. The round conference table under the portrait of well-known biologist prof. dr. Freek Vonk, offers a homely atmosphere. The meeting room has a digital screen with a camera that enables hybrid meetings. The Green Room can be used in combination with other conference and event rooms in Naturalis, during office hours and in the evenings on weekdays.

Naturalis strives to produce exhibitions and other expressions in a circular manner. This is reflected in The Green Room: all materials are sustainable, regional, recycled or reusable.

Sustainable Interior

All wooden materials are locally harvested and produced by Joost Koster, Justus Hamann and Geert Sinke. The 'Rebel Chair' chairs are made of pressed fiber from coffee jute bags by Planq. The innovative green wall not only provides pleasant acoustics, but also a cosy, natural atmosphere. Both the green wall and the hanging lamp are produced with recycled felt from PET bottles by In Zee Leiden. In addition, various pieces of furniture have been reused, such as the table from Canoof, the dresser from Pastoe Orphanage and the standing lamp from the Naturalis storage. Sustainability has been taken into account in detail; from sustainable wall paint from fairf.nl to sustainable recycled fabric from De Ploeg made by a local upholstery company, Nieuwe Rijn.
