Leiden is a small city and most locations are within walking distance of each other, right in the historical city centre. The pre-eminent Dutch mode of transport is the bike. Many hotels have their own bicycles for rent or to borrow. Leiden has excellent public transport options. Trains stop at Leiden Central Station from several directions. The station is situated at the edge of the city centre. City buses drive with a high frequency to practically every location in the city. In Leiden city centre, all stops are announced in English. At Leiden Central Station, the taxis park on top of a huge bicycle parking shelter.
You can travel comfortably by coach to more remote conference locations, to the coast, the Keukenhof, the beautiful nature of the Groene Hart, or Schiphol Airport. These companies can transport large and small groups, by means of (VIP) coach, double-decker bus, (VIP) mini bus, midi bus or party bus; they can also act as travel agents for short excursions or longer trips.
