A Professional Congress Organisers (PCO) or an intermediary specialises in organising international conferences and meetings on a professional basis. The Leiden Convention Bureau recommends calling in a PCO or intermediary when organising a large international conference. They can take care of the entire organisation of a conference, or limit themselves to specific parts of a conference.
PCOs and intermediaries have a lot of experience and expertise, meaning that they work efficiently and accurately, and have good negotiation skills. This allows the client to be able to fully focus on the content of the conference, and the PCO or intermediary takes care of all practical matters.

Transportation
Leiden is a small city, and most of its venues are within walking distance of each other, right in the historical city centre. The popular Dutch mode of transport is the bike. Many hotels have their own bicycles for rent or to borrow. The Central Station is, quite ideally, located in the city centre. City buses frequently drive to practically every location in the city and the region. Taxis are readily available there as well, parked on top of a large bicycle parking garage.
You can travel in comfort by bus to more remote conference locations, to the coast, the Keukenhof, the beautiful nature of the Groene Hart, or to Schiphol Airport. There are bus companies that can transport large and small groups, by means of (VIP) coach, double-decker bus, (VIP) mini-bus, midi-bus or party-bus; they can also act as travel agents for short excursions or longer trips.
