The Hooglandse Kerk stands in the heart of the historical city of Leiden. It is one of the most beautiful and impressive churches of the city. The Hooglandse Kerk is also used as an events’ location. The large and atmospheric space can turn a concert, congress, or dinner into a very special experience for everyone attending. The total floor area of the church is 2800 m2. It can easily host up to 1500 people in a theatre setting. The space can be divided into separate areas using large screens, making it possible to host multiple sessions at the same time.
The knave of the church, which can be completely separated from the rest of the church by lowering the screens, offers seating for around 500 people. The church has a beautiful acoustic, as does the knave when it is separated by the screen. On the choir side of the church, there are three well-equipped meeting rooms in “Het Hooglandse Huys.” These rooms each have a capacity of between 45 and 65 people and can be put to use as secondary rooms when the church is hired. The Hooglandse Kerk is equipped with state of the art facilities.
The Hooglandse Kerk is located at a ten-minute walk from Leiden Central Station. It is next to the old Roman fortress of Leiden, the “Burcht,” which is the oldest and most centrally placed structure in the city.
Parking is available on the Garenmarkt or in the Breestraat parking garage. The Haarlemmerstraat parking garage next to the Hooigracht is also within walking distance.
