Kasteel Oud-Poelgeest is located in Oegstgeest, 2.9 km from Leiden, with Schiphol Airport, Keukenhof and the North Sea beach in close proximity. Boat trips on the nearby lakes are possible from the estate. In addition to a hotel and a bistro, the castle also houses 14 meeting rooms of various sizes, for groups from 2 to 100 people. There is a wine tasting room and a castle bar with a sun-drenched terrace on the large pond.

The castle arose shortly after 1300 as a fortified house in an area 'bordered by swamps and pools'. It is located on an estate of over 10 hectares. with deciduous forest, pond and watercourses and a 19th-century coach house, a chapel, a forester's house, and a gatehouse. The current castle was built around 1640. A famous resident was the Leiden professor Herman Boerhaave (around 1725). He planted special trees and crops and created an herb garden. The onion-shaped towers date from the nineteenth century.

Oud-Poelgeest is very suitable for conferences, meetings, and festivities. The spaces are located in the Castle, the Coach House and the Orangery. In the characteristic Koetshuis there are 5 meeting rooms, including the Boerhaavezaal. This former hayloft can accommodate 100 people. Next to the Boerhaavezaal are four meeting rooms that can be used perfectly as a break-out meeting room or reception room. There are several period rooms in the castle. All rooms, with names such as 'de Oude Mangelkamer' and 'de Wapenzaal', have daylight, vary from 25 to 120 m2 and are equipped with all possible meeting facilities. There are various meeting packages.

The romantic Dragon Room is particularly suitable for a wedding ceremony. The coach house can be used for a reception, dinner or (wedding) party. When the weather is nice, the terrace on the water can be used. The 45 hotel rooms and the reception are located in the (contemporary) annex of the former coach house. The meetings contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage. It enables restoration, maintenance, and embellishment of the monuments on Landgoed Oud-Poelgeest. In recent years, the arch bridge and ceiling of the Dragon Hall have been restored.

Oud Poelgeest Castle is only 5 minutes from the A4, between The Hague and Amsterdam, 10 (bicycle) minutes from Leiden Central Station and 20 minutes from Schiphol. Parking is free.
