Sunday 25 June

The world from up close

On the 25th of June, a workshop will take place at Rijksmuseum Boerhaave: De wereld van héél dichtbij. De workshop will take place in the museum's foyer, from 10:30 to 16:30 PM. Participation is free, so long as you have a valid museum ticket.

De wereld van héél dichtbij is part of the Life Sciences & Health week, a week starting on the 22nd of June and ending on the 29th, where Life Sciences & health institutions will open their doors to the public.

The workshop will be about the discovery of the microscopic world. Visitors can inspect hedgehog spikes with Rijksmuseum Boerhaave's digital microscopes, see how sweat on skin is produced and evaporates, and counts insect hairs. Visitors can compare the modern microscopen to those which Antoni van Leeuwenhoek used in his time, to see how far science has progressed in the meantime. Furthermore, you are allowed to bring several things from home to research there.

This workship will be in Dutch…
