The Hospitality Group opts for sustainability

To be and remain the sustainable(er) choice for large groups and parties in Leiden, we continue to innovate in the field of sustainable developments in the hospitality industry. Anno 2023, it is essential to stop being indifferent to sustainable business. Both companies and consumers are becoming increasingly aware of our ecological footprint, making consideration for a more sustainable choice increasingly important.

The Horeca Group, consisting of Stadscafé van der Werff, Lot & de Walvis, Trattoria Italiana City Hall, Tabú and Waterlust de Kaagsociëteit, is therefore taking up the fight against food waste. This particularly applies to our activities involving large groups, parties and events where the risk of surpluses is significant.

The Orbi: the revolutionary solution

We are therefore proud to announce that we have started a collaboration with our new partner Orbisk. By implementing their revolutionary AI-driven scale called Orbi; designed to minimise food waste and reduce our ecological impact. This smart scale uses advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and image recognition, to accurately measure and analyse the amount of food waste. Thanks to the Orbi, you become aware of your patterns in food waste and provide targeted measures to reduce them.

Besides implementing the Orbi, we have taken measures such as reducing our plastic usage, striving for energy efficiency in our operations and started our own sales department, which, through personal contact with the customer, knows how to best estimate a group booking in terms of take-up.

De Horeca Groep has made great strides to reduce food waste and promote sustainability in its business. With the implementation of the Orbis, we have the tools to identify our waste patterns. How great! Want to know more? Take a look at their website www.orbisk.nl
