European Congress of Conservation Biology comes to Leiden
Bridging research with practice
The European Congress of Conservation Biology offers participants the opportunity to experience the best examples of Dutch conservation efforts. Social excursions will show how farmers, citizens, and researchers work together to shape the future of Dutch agriculture in the Polder Lab (Vrouwe Venne Polder), visit the Dutch dune landscape, or experience how Dutch land reclamation generates novel ecosystems in the Oostervaardersplassen and Markerwadden.
Experts, researchers, policymakers, and students will come together over a week-long congress to explore how multidisciplinary perspectives can advance effective biodiversity implementation.
Through symposia, roundtables, panel discussions, workshops, and training courses, participants will have a first row seat to the latest research developments, including:
● Ecosystem recovery, restoration, and rewilding
● Major policy challenges for conservation in Europe and globally
● The science policy interface: reporting, monitoring, and research at European Conservation Agencies
● Developing a common understanding of good practice for conservation research on Indigenous and community lands
… and more!
