Claartje Levelt sets course for innovation within Leiden language centre

Our ambassador Claartje Levelt has been appointed scientific director of the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics (LUCL). The LUCL is part of the Faculty of Humanities at Leiden University and focuses on linguistic research and education.

New opportunities and innovation

Under Levelt's leadership, LUCL intends to explore opportunities for further collaboration and innovation, including in the field of artificial intelligence. The institute also aims to further intensify its collaboration with external partners in this area. In addition, Levelt will focus on collaboration with colleagues responsible for education within the organisation, with the aim of keeping the programmes both academically strong and attractive to students.

The Leiden Convention Bureau would like to congratulate Claartje Levelt on her new role. She is one of our valued ambassadors who contributes to strengthening Leiden's position as a city of knowledge and science.
