From 5 to 7 July, CINETS 2026: Crimmigration in an Age of Authoritarian Drift will take place at Leiden Law School. The conference is organised in collaboration with Border Criminologies.

The theme of the conference is crimmigration in an Age of Authoritarian Drift. The conference focuses on the way in which criminal law and migration policy are becoming increasingly intertwined. Governments around the world are increasingly using strict migration rules and immigration detention as political tools. The conference offers a platform for researchers, academics and professionals from various fields to come together and share knowledge and ideas on the theme.

The programme consists of lectures, panels and interactive sessions with international speakers. It is also an excellent opportunity to network and establish new collaborations.
