The Advanced Survival Analysis course will take place from 12 to 16 January. The course is organised by the LUMC and will be held at the Fletcher Wellness Hotel in Leiden. During the course, you will learn advanced techniques for analysing survival data.
Analysing survival data concerns information about how long it takes for events such as recovery or death to occur. Using standard tools, such as the Kaplan-Meier estimator of the survival curve and the log rank test, you will learn various techniques. These can be used when different events such as complications and recovery occur simultaneously, the impact of factors gradually changes, patients are grouped by, for example, the hospital, or you want to compare a patient population with the general population. In addition to the theory, you will also have the opportunity to practise with real clinical data and learn how to perform the analyses using the R programming language.
