LIBC Public Day 2025: Hope for the Brain

The Public Day 2025: Hope for the Brain is an annual event organised by LIBC in collaboration with the municipality of Leiden. This year, it will take place on Friday 31 October. The theme of this year's Public Day is Neuroscience, organised by the LUMC research group.

Topics covered this year include developments in the field of brain diseases, such as the recent drug that can slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, and areas where further research is needed. Other topics this year include: methods used to perform brain scans, what a neurological examination entails, and how brain cells function. The topics will be supported by a demonstration of an MRI scanner and an EEG. This day presents an accessible opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the latest scientific insights in brain research.
The programme will take place in the Stadsgehoorzaal Leiden and will start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. When ordering tickets, it is also possible to order a packed lunch.
