PEPtalk: A life after death for science
Contact
Fred van Immerseel, scientific preparator at the LUMC, discusses his unique connection with Death and what it is like to work with unknown deceased individuals on a daily basis.
Leiden University Medical Centre is keen to spread its knowledge to a wider audience. That's what PEPtalks are for: short, 20-minute lectures held every month. A great way to learn something new during your lunch break!
This PEPtalk focuses on the incredible human body from a possibly unfamiliar perspective: after death. Fred van Immerseel speaks about his work with the deceased and his daily encounters with death. What is it like to work every day with people you have never known? Is it difficult, or can it also be comforting? He also discusses what it means to donate your body to science; a remarkable and valuable gesture.
The PEPtalk takes place in Dutch.
