During the LED3 Lecture, Christian Hackenberger will discuss innovative methods for the targeted modification of proteins and antibodies, including the P5 labelling platform, which enables the development of new antibody-drug conjugates.
During the LED3 Lecture, Christian Hackenberger will present his research group’s pioneering work in the field of chemical biology. He will discuss advanced chemical and chemo-enzymatic methods for the targeted modification of proteins and antibodies, with a particular focus on the P5 labelling platform developed by his group. This technology enables the development of stable and highly effective antibody-drug conjugates and has formed the basis for the biotech company Tubulis, which Hackenberger co-founded.
Hackenberger is an internationally renowned researcher in the field of chemical biology and has received several prestigious awards, including the Max Bergmann Medal in 2024 and the UCB-Ehrlich Award from the EFMC in 2026. During the lecture, he will demonstrate how fundamental chemical research can evolve into technology with a major impact on the development of new medicines.
