Staging the Heroine brings together participants who explore how female heroes were portrayed and how different arts influenced each other in this regard. The conference pays special attention to famous heroines from classical and biblical traditions, such as Judith, Dido and Medea, and how their stories were adapted and retold in various media and contexts.
The results of the conference will be published in 2027 in Brill/De Gruyter's Intersections series.
