6 July 2026 until 10 July 2026

European Congress of Conservation Biology

From 6 to 10 July 2026, the European Congress of Conservation Biology will take place in Leiden. The congress focuses on the loss of biodiversity in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems worldwide. The congress offers a platform for researchers and policymakers to exchange their knowledge and ideas.

Reducing the loss of biodiversity in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems worldwide requires cooperation between various sectors, such as governments, NGOs, citizens and business. During ECCB, these sectors will be brought together to not only investigate but also promote effective protection of biodiversity in Europe.

The conference will take place at Leiden University, and registration is open until April 2026. The conference is organised by the Europe Region of the Society for Conservation Biology and Leiden University, in collaboration with Hortus Botanicus, Wageningen University & Research, NIOO-KNAW, and is supported by the Leiden Biodiversity Network.
