You can't open a newspaper or news website without seeing a report on the potential benefits of these drugs in treating depression, trauma, anxiety and even addiction. In addition, many people look for personal growth or spiritual deepening at one of the many psychedelic retreat centers in our country. The use of these substances in minimum doses (microdosing) also seems to be a real hype and startups that want to market these substances are springing up like mushrooms. But what do we really know about it? And what do experts think the future will look like?

Various questions are discussed, such as: What exactly happens in your brain under the influence of psychedelics? What are the effects of psychedelics on our perception and emotions? What is the current state of research into therapeutic applications of psychedelics?
Experts from Leiden and the rest of the Netherlands, both in the field of fundamental scientific and applied research, will speak in this symposium and offer a fascinating insight into the world of research into psychedelics.
