On 24 November 2026, the LGBTIQ+ Workplace Inclusion Symposium brings researchers and professionals together in Leiden to share knowledge and advance more inclusive workplaces through research, policy and intersectional perspectives.
On 24 November 2026, the Academy Building in Leiden will host the LGBTIQ+ Workplace Inclusion Symposium. The event marks ten years of the Chair in LGBTIQ+ Workplace Inclusion and brings together researchers and professionals working to advance inclusion in the workplace. It is organised by Prof. Jojanneke van der Toorn in collaboration with Workplace Pride.
Throughout the programme, international researchers will present recent findings on topics including workplace bias, professionalism, identity, allyship and the experiences of LGBTIQ+ employees. The talks explore how gender, sexual orientation and other aspects of identity can influence perceptions, opportunities and experiences at work, while creating space for exchange between academic research and professional practice.

Participants will exchange perspectives and work towards practical recommendations for future workplace strategies. The symposium concludes with informal networking and drinks, while parts of the programme will also be available via livestream.
