Leiden Plan your route to Microscopy reinvented: peeking into living worlds
On 9 December 2025, a lecture on microscopy will be held at Leiden University. The lecture is part of Leiden University's monthly Tuesday's Talk series. In Tuesday's Talk, researchers from Leiden University give presentations on their current scientific research.
In this lecture, Sense Jan van der Molen will talk about his research on microscopes, in particular a new and unique microscope called ONEM. ONEM combines an electron microscope with a light microscope. This allows small details to be seen without damaging the samples. This technique can be useful in fields such as electrochemistry, biology, and life sciences. In addition to the presentation, Sense Jan van der Molen will also give a live demonstration of how ONEM works by showing an E. coli bacterium. The presentation will be followed by informal networking drinks.
