Tuesday Talk: FAIR imaging for advancing science

The Tuesday Talks are Leiden’s monthly dose of research inspiration, open to all curious minds. Every second Tuesday of the month, Leiden University hosts a one-hour lecture by a staff member. The speaker, Dr Sylvia Le Dévédec, is an Assistant Professor in the Drug Discovery & Safety division at Leiden University, a researcher at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, and co-leader of the Leiden Cell Observatory (LCO). Her work investigates the mechanisms behind breast cancer metastasis and drug resistance.

Modern technology is an extraordinary tool for the medical field and drug development. That said, researchers may struggle to ensure data uncovered by advanced imaging technologies is reliable. Managing scientific data in a transparent and reproducible way is becoming an increasingly important challenge. The LCO team works to ensure that imaging data are reliable, traceable, and reusable by developing FAIR frameworks and quality assurance standards for reproducible, AI-ready science.
