Collaborations in the field of breast cancer

| LUMC

From 1 September, Alrijne and LUMC will be collaborating in the field of breast cancer care. Under the name Borstkankerzorg Leiden (Breast Cancer Care Leiden), healthcare providers from Alrijne and LUMC will be available to patients with suspected breast cancer.

Breast cancer care in one place

Since 1 September 2025, LUMC and Alrijne have been joining forces to concentrate and optimise breast cancer care in the region.
From now on, all basic examinations and treatments for breast cancer patients will largely be offered at a single central location in Leiden, at the so-called “Breast Cancer Care Leiden (Mammapoli)”.
A multidisciplinary team of specialists from both organisations will take care of the patients, ensuring that they receive faster, more efficient care and have a single point of contact.
The collaboration is not only intended to improve care, but also offers opportunities for enhanced scientific research, training and innovation within regional oncological care.
