10 years of OPIC - Pathways of Access to Justice for Children
The Leiden Children's Rights Observatory, in collaboration with the Leiden Law Academy, partnered with the Petitions Section of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and UNICEF, will host a symposium on April 10, 2024, at Naturalis!
The symposium will observe a decade of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a Communications Procedure (OPIC). It offers a unique opportunity for academics, professionals, government officials, NGOs, and young people to collaborate, share knowledge, and discuss ways to enhance access to justice for children through OPIC. The focus is on encouraging more states to ratify OPIC. The event aims to foster critical discourse and collaborative efforts to advance the global protection and promotion of children's rights.
