Leiden is a small city, and most of its venues are within walking distance of each other, right in the historical city centre. The popular Dutch mode of transport is the bike. Many hotels have their own bicycles for rent or to borrow. Leiden also has an excellent public transport infrastructure. Trains stop at Leiden Central Station from several national and international destinations. The station is ideally located in city centre. City buses drive with a high frequency to practically every location in the city and the region. At Leiden Central Station, taxis are readily available as well, parked on top of a huge bicycle parking garage.

You can travel comfortably by bus to more remote conference locations, to the coast, the Keukenhof, the beautiful nature of the Groene Hart, or to Schiphol Airport. There are bus companies that can transport large and small groups, by means of (VIP) coach, double-decker bus, (VIP) mini-bus, midi-bus or party-bus; they can also act as travel agents for short excursions or longer trips.
