Op 18 september vindt in Leiden op een bijzondere locatie een bijeenkomst plaats over kunst, creativiteit en kunstmatige intelligentie (AI). Tijdens deze avond gaan twee filosofen in gesprek over: Kan AI werkelijk creatief zijn? En wat doet AI met onze ideeën over kunst, creativiteit en verbeelding?

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a tool we use. Increasingly, it is becoming a collaborative partner, producing texts, images, music and film. This shift raises pressing questions: Can an algorithm truly be creative? And what happens to human imagination when machines create art?

The speakers are Prof. Dr Susanna Lindberg (Universiteit Leiden), specialised in the philosophy of art and image, and Dr Nolen Gertz (Universiteit Twente), an expert in the philosophy of technology. Together, they offer a fascinating perspective on the impact of AI on art and our society. Everyone is welcome, and no prior knowledge of philosophy is required.

This fourth lecture in the series Leidse Bespiegelingen; philosophical evenings for thinkers, is part of the event Days of Art and Science. The lecture will be held in English in the temporary theatre tower at Pieterskerkplein.
